Description: The Har Ki Dun is a 50-kilometer-long valley that is of typical "admiral's cup" form and is located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttrakhand State. It is known for its amazing cultural heritage and breathtaking views. Climbed by Doon School master Jack Gibson in 1937, the valley has two interpretations: the Valley of Gods... drums away and tribal heads dancing on the street... The festival is in full bloom on the occasion of Lord Someshwara's welcome, with his drummer playing drums. Having the Har Ki Dun Trek Route trip taken is a fascinating journey through the magnificent Garhwal Himalaya valleys and villages, and it offers glorious and exciting views. The trail opens on the 27th of March with verglas (ice layers), which makes slipping a possibility, and by the 15th of April, flowers start spewing their showers, which welcome their beautiful array of colors. Summer has comfortable weather, as could be expected during the day and the evening, respectively. Pick the right clothes. The festival is basically played around the village around class 8, which is Har Ki Dun. August is the best time to explore the valley. The Har Ki Dun Trek can be a manageable to moderate hike; the trail through the Garhwali Himalaya ends at the surrealist and beautiful valley of Har Ki Dun. Trekking becomes a 3-day experience as it involves following a footpath and passing a long distance of 25 km. The hiking will be on the 14th day, which includes an added two days of driving to Sankri and back to Dehradun. Trekkers can follow three different paths till they get to the pond, named Marinda Tal, which emerges owing to the melting of the Swarna glaciers. Hata Valley of Uttarakhand is a marvelous Alpine meadow with immense Jaundharglacier shrinking at the footsteps of Swargarohini Peak, but it is also witnessing glacier retreat owing to global warming.
